Gaudí's city by the sea: modernist façades, Gothic lanes and long evenings on the beach.
Start at the Sagrada Família early in the morning, when the light pours through the stained glass and the crowds have not arrived yet. Then walk down the Passeig de Gràcia to see Casa Batlló and La Pedrera.
Get lost in the Gothic Quarter and El Born, have tapas at the Boqueria market and finish the day at Barceloneta, or watching the sunset from the bunkers of the Carmel hill.
